hello out there in blogworld!

my name is terry tunks and i have always loved music and helping people enjoy their big milestone moments. way back in ’74-78 and most of the 80′s i would spend a lot of time comparing what i did to live bands. now when everyone with an ipod has thousands of songs its a little different getting the message of quality entertainment across. on this post i want to give your the reader more questions to ask than just price. if you have a comment i would love to hear it. questions to ask when calling around? here are a few

1 Get some names – ask your friends and family; contact local dance clubs and radio stations; check the yellow pages and local magazines for professional entertainment company listings; talk to recent newlyweds and wedding vendors for informed opinions.

	Hiring the right entertainer for your event is probably the most important decision for the successful outcome of your event! So how do you find the right DJ? Some people view DJ’s as a commodity and choose the cheapest one they can find, not knowing there are differences to look for. I’ve heard numerous horror stories of DJ companies that lure in customers with low prices, only to provide an inexperienced disc jockey with poor people skills, an inferior music library, shoddy equipment, and they either arrive late or don’t show at all! Will You Play The Music At An Appropriate Level?	The biggest concern voiced by prospective clients is the volume level of the music. A professional DJ knows to keep the volume at a level appropriate for the guests, especially during cocktails and the dinner hour.
Do You Do More Than Just Play Music at the Affair?	Most affairs involve more than playing music. It is important to have a DJ who is capable of playing the music, handling all of the announcements and helps to coordinate the affair.
Will You Listen to My Concerns and Input?	A professional DJ is aware that they can’t possibly know every aspect of music and entertainment. Your input and suggestions should be welcome!

About Holly’s House

The Evansville Police Department chose the name Holly’s House™ for the Child and Adult Advocacy Center in honor of the work Holly Dunn Pendleton has done in educating our community on how to assist victims of sexual violence, as well as her personal efforts to reach out and help victims of sexual assault.

An Evansville native, she is the only known survivor of the Railroad Serial Killer. Holly has used her traumatic experience to help others heal from, or hopefully avoid, similar situations. She lives as a survivor, not a victim. Holly speaks at schools, women’s events, before judicial panels, and has provided training sessions for the entire Evansville Police Department. Holly was the recipient of the 2006 Jefferson Award for Community Service, sponsored by the Evansville Courier and Press; and one of five honorees of the 2006 Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Award for Greatest Public Service Benefiting a Community. She also serves on the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Commission on Domestic and Sexual Violence.
